About Cigdem Knebel

When Cigdem Knebel struggled to find decodable chapter books that her 7-year-old dyslexic son could painlessly read, she began to write for him. Cigdem believes that all children love to read. This is no different for children with dyslexia; they just need to find that right book.

Cigdem is the founder of Simple Words Books, which are the just right books for dyslexic children, early & reluctant readers. Words in these chapter books are mostly closed, single syllables and most frequently used Dolch Sight Words. This makes Simple Words Books ideal for improving fluency and boosting readers’ confidence.
