How to Reframe Dyslexia: An Exercise
The way we think about our past experiences as dyslexics can really shape who we believe we are and how we feel about ourselves. Let’s challenge the negative beliefs we may have developed over the years. Reframing is a technique used in the field of psychology to reevaluate our held beliefs and give ourselves some much-needed perspective. By exercising our skills of reframing, this video aims to show you that you can change the way you feel about yourself by altering the beliefs that you hold about your past.
Dyslexia certainly defined me and at 78 I’m still haunted by it to some extent. Having utterly failed at school I went on to do my degrees later in life, BSc and MSc. I’ve worked in everything from an Australian sheep station to research labs and became a high school science teacher for 15 years. In my declining years I’ve become the author of books (internet search Dave Crawford). Publication include The Deadly Serious Republic and Good Evil. Earlier this year I published my auto-biography Pathway: The Dyslexic’s Tale.
