Dyslexics Feel More!
As dyslexics, we are familiar with the downsides of dyslexia, but what about possible dyslexic strengths? Researchers know that lower activity in one brain area can be accompanied by greater activity in another. Meaning that there might be a possible upside to having dyslexia. In this academic study, researchers found that we dyslexics seem to be highly sensitive and attuned to our social environment. This can be a strength, a benefit of having dyslexia; however, this might also be the reason why we are more prone to things like anxiety and depression.
